Thursday 30th May saw the Barana Black Simmental stud dispersed. A sad moment in the Black Simmental breed but an exciting opportunity for other breeders to gain access to the Barana genetics.

Thursday 30th May saw the Barana Black Simmental stud dispersed. A sad moment in the Black Simmental breed but an exciting opportunity for other breeders to gain access to the Barana genetics.

The sale was interfaced with Auctions Plus which worked extremely well with 30 lots going to Auctions plus bidders including the highest priced lot.

77 lots were offered including: 3 bulls, 29 heifers, 10 cows with calves at foot, 23 cows PTIC and 12 commercial cows and heifers.

The top priced cow was lot 22 sold for $4500. The top price for a heifer was $2500( lots 50, 51 and 57). Lot 5 was the highest priced Cow with calf at foot at $3000.

Lot 73 Long Valley Destiny sold for $5000 to top the sale and the bull lots.

In short: Cows PTIC sold to $4500 and averaged $1989 Cows + calf sold to $3000 and averaged $2000 Heifers sold to$2500 and averaged $1266 Commercial cows sold for $900 Commercial Heifers’ sold for $750 Bulls sold to $5000 and averaged $4420
