Caloona Park senior takes out grand and supreme Charolais exhibit CALOONA PARK’s Sydney Royal junior and grand champion and supreme Charolais exhibit, and interbreed champion bull, Caloona Park Little Hero, outshone all comers at the Pickles Auctions Charolais Showcase at Dubbo on Monday. Little Hero kept his record by winning senior, grand bull and supreme exhibit of the show conducted in conjunction with the 2017 Charolais National Youth Stampede, Clipex Silver Calf Championship and Allflex Charolais National Sale.Peter Godbolt, Landmark, Albury, presents thesenior champion rosette to Caloona Park Little Hero held by Louie Franco and exhibited by Louie and Steven Franco, Caloona Park stud, Tamworth.
The 988 kilogram son of Caloona Park Hero and out of Caloona Park Daffodil, Little Hero carried an eye muscle area (EMA) of 139 square centimetres and was described by the judge, Peter Cook, Barana Simmentals, Coolah, as an outstanding exhibit.“It doesn’t matter what breed, everyone would like to put together all the sums to make a bull like this,” he said. He has a natural stance about him, soft, very good behind the shoulders and has plenty of meat.”
Mr Cook officiated over seven classes of 28 bulls.Exhibited by Louie and Steven Franco and family, at Loomberah near Tamworth, Little Hero had grown 48kg since his Sydney achievements.Junior champion bull, DSK TGL Max M69E (P) came from the youngest nine to 12 months class when exhibited by Chris Knox and Helen Alexander, DSK stud, Coonabarabran.
A son of Temana Golden Logie G66E and from DSK WW EstelleB9E, Max weighed 483kg and displayed an EMA of 90sqcm.Reserve senior bull was Elite Kustom Made, by Kindara Captain Jack, was exhibited by the Elite Cattle Company of Glen Waldron and Kim Groner, Meandarra, Queensland, and weighed 1246kg with an EMA of 149sqcm.Reserve junior bull, Kenmere Syngery’s Man (P), by Ashwood Park Synergy G29E, was shown by the Collins family, Kenmere stud, Cobbitty, and weighed 626kg with a 107sqcm EMA.
